So youre on or near the dance floor and your just hanging out having a good time, and you see a cute girl. You make eye contact and she looks away for a split secong before looking back and smiling. You take this as your que and half walk half dance your way over to her.

This is where I get stuck and freeze up a little.

I'm not a bad dancer but like most people I do get a little nervous when approaching a girl. Its rare that the girl doesnt respond to me coming over but I would like to have an idea of what to do if things do go wrong rather than just standing there awkwardly or turning tail and heading back to the people I was with.

Any advice or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated.

If you're in a group, keep smiling and looking over for a little until you get her look of semi-approval, sort of step back a little, half turn, looking over your shoulder and extend a hand as an invitation to dance with you.

If she isn't interested at all, she'll ignore you. If she's kind of interested, just smile and mouth 'come on' , if she puts her hand on your's, just go with it.
