I'd like to get your advice on turning around a previous "negative IOI".

I met this really hot waitress with whom I started to hit it off by speaking to her about pets, because she's a huge dog lover and worked at a pet store part time.

I saw her a couple of times before asking for her number, which she gladly provided; but when I texted her a week later, she never replied. When I saw her some time later and light-heartedly pointed out that I hadn't heard from her, she told me that she was busy and then didn't keep the number, so I didn't press. I still see her from time to time, and now am not sure how to get the train back on track.

I'm thinking that I should come to her and say something along the lines of "hey Gorgeous, I may have come on too strong, and I'd like to invest the time to know you. What do you say we start over, maybe over a cup of coffee?"

It's sincere, I like this girl. What do you think?
