I have an elderly mother that I help with certain things. I take her to the store to help with her shopping, run errands for her, carry her wash down and up the basement stairs etc.. just things you do for an elderly parent. When I was at the Supermarket with my mother one day a funny thing happened, a little kid was getting toilet paper for his mom. He's carrying it back to her but stops in front of me and my mother and says "This is for my turds!" while holding it over his head. He then ran of to his mom. It was cute and funny. Everytime I tell the story about the kid, it get's laughs. I figure if I can work the why I was at the supermarket with my mother, it would be a DHV, but that part seems kind of awkward to work in. Any ideas?

Well it's great that you help your eldery mother. However the story also demonstrates that you are a tool to her (of course WAY MORE) but still you're being tooled around... so I'd place that part way more subtle. Just tell that you have an elderly mother you often help with stuff. Saying you carry her wash up and down the stairs just doesn't sound alpha male to me.

The rest of the story is quite cute yes. And girls love cute stories about kids.

Suer you can spin that into a DHV. Tell them you have a elderly mother you like to help with things she can't do anymore. Then give 3 examples with the last being a joke one. Like for exemple,
"That reminds me of a story that hapenned to me the other day, I was shoping with my elderly mother. I like to help her out with stuff she can't do anymore, like shoping, cleaning windows and shoeing away republicans. So anyway we where at the supermarket when this kid... "
