If you have time/already a magician you could use cards.

One of my openers is a classic hey guys, I'm going to show you something amazing.

I only have 2-3 tricks lasting roughly 3-4 mins.

Usually I start off with something crappy - the key card which everybody knows

(put the card into the middle of the deck. Note the card above it when you cut. When you look through the deck again, their card will be the one directly below the one you spotted)

Then I say okay it's time to make it interesting. Throw in a false shuffle or two and run a story trick.
Then I produce their card from my mouth. This is quite amazing in itself but when they think you're an idiot after the first trick, the contrast plays into your effect.
It also provides an oppertunity to banter and neg throughout the trick and generally ignore the target. Also gives an oppertunity to increase kino through moving them around to an 'optimum position'.

One of my not so jokey jokes is to get a girl to sign a card - "Yeah just throw in your name... oh and i dunno.. something really personal to you which I wouldn't know... say...any 11 digit number beginning with 07. It's up to you. When you produce it from your mouth and they refuse to keep the card i say to the guys (providing the wrote their phone number down) "that's the easiest way to take a phone number guys.."

All in all, pretty lame jokes but show that you're quirky and not too interested in them.

I'm kinda against people revealing magic tricks like that, or youtube videos. I mean, people worked real hard to create these and some took a long time practicing just to get them right and revealing those will just ruin the illusion. I had to adjust my magic routines to include mindblowing effects that nobody would know how it's done (and even if they do know, they cannot prove anything when executed properly).

Vanishing stuff is maybe the best trick to perform when sarging but it takes a bit of practice, otherwise you would look like an idiot. If you're interested PM me.

Honestly, I don't really use magic in my pickups, but I used to do magic when I was a lot younger as a hobby. If I had to learn some magic that was fast, easy, looks good, and can be done anywhere, I would recommend coin (quarter) tricks. Quarters are something that doesn't look weird to carry around and they can even be barrowed... would work great for me too because on my college campus, a lot of bars/clubs do quarter specials on certain nights for whatever drinks.

For quarter tricks, I'd recommend checking out Modern Coin Magic by JB Bobo. It's a classic and will walk you through some very basic and some more advanced coin manipulations. Everything from vanishes to reproductions. Note: I do not work for or profit from this product; I am strictly using my opinion and recommending this.

Also, your local magic shop most likely carries gimmicked coins. I'm not a fan of using gimmicked coins, but I am a fan of the cigarette-through-quarter gimmick. It looks pretty sweet to put a lit cigarette half way through a quarter, take a drag, and then pull it out... if you get good at false transfers, you can even hand the "same" quarter out for inspection.

Like I said, I don't really do magic anymore (probably been about four years), but from my memory, that should do you pretty well.
