Would anyone be so kind to explain the term "Rapport" for me? Have read it a lot of times, but still can't figure out the "definition"

basically all rapport is is a feeling between you and someone when you can talk about almost anything. Rapport is a feeling of comfort

I've worked as a sales rep and one of the things you're taught to do with your potential customers is to build rapport with them. It's basically just anything you have in common with them which helps you relate to one another on an emotional level. It instantly builds comfort, and a feeling of familiarity even though they've only met you.
Showing empathy is also useful. You relate to how they feel about something and show agreement towards their way of thought based on a similar personal experience and thus you connect on a similar level as mentioned above. Again, this makes them instantly more comfortable.
