my problem is being in the army i have whats known as a "squaddie sense of humor" which basically means i accept banter and comments to an atrotious level, both giving and taking, and i'm worried in the field through a comment etc that to me is just in passing conversation i may ruin it in the blink of an eye.
how do you cross back over the line, if its even possible at all if a cocky funny comment, or neg, insults or offends the set/target more than you intended.
i remember reading something style once said (i'm not quoting here but go with me on this) in his book when he talks of the perfect sarge in miami he says that "sure i'm invoking a reaction, it might be a negative reaction, but in time i can turn that back to positive"
any thoughts comments stories etc, please make my day. cheers lads.

You can say virtually anything you want without crossing the line, it all revolves around presentation and delivery not the content. I know what you're talking about, I hang around men mostly and what's funny to a man may not be so funny to a woman.
I.E. "Dave didn't show up for work, he must be at his gyno appointment."
Funny to a man, not so funny to most women. But if you've established that as your personality, and your delivery is on point, then that won't matter.
