This is the easiest routine to learn! I had it down after a couple tries. I've been practicing on friends to see what the odds are that they will pick denmark, kangaroo, and orange. well it seems that it has been very time so far! Wish me luck in the field!!!

Just tried this at a local coffee shop. Typically she picked Koala and apple after denmark. But she was impressed that I got Denmark.

The thing is it was a spur of the monemt thing so I used my blackberry, typed denmark kangaroo and orange into it and put it face down on the table without letting her see it. I think this also added to the suprise that I actually got one of them right, seeing is believing and all that!

I was thinking if I twist it a bit, I could eliminate the chance of getting caught out with koala and apple. Write down Denmark, kangaroo, koala, orange and apple, then run the routine as above but tell her I'm going to put the images of three countries into her head ie Denmark, Australia(kangaroos + koalas) and spain(apple orchards and orange groves are everywhere there!

This ads my knowledge of geography as a DHV also!

Might seem a bit confusing but maybe that would ad to the trick....

you could also get your wingman,best friend,whoever....to write you an sms at just the right moment...you(after the routine,"o.k. let me think for a moment...")and then your telephone peeps,"sorry,just a second..." and show her the sms...if the timing is right this works really well......

Tried this several times this weekend (housemates, girls in pub, girl at bus stop).

Didn't work with housemates as they tried to be difficult deliberately. Didn't work with girl a - accountant; knew that all numbers would come out as 4. Didn't work on girl b - couldn't accurately add together two digits (talk about two different ends of the spectrum). Worked on girl at bus stop; she was genuinely amazed!

Might use this again, but I'll make sure I get the right target first!

This is beyond useless. There is a difference between a girl standing there listening to you recite some math trick and her paying attention to you because she is sexually attracted to you. Do you want a girl to say "Oh that was clever!" or want to have sex with you?

Since the last post, I've tried it several more times and it's worked every time. I've modified it slightly though which, I feel, helps. I now go for something like:

My friend who's a hypnotist taught me this cool trick yesterday. *idea clicking* Hey, have you ever had your mind read? Cool. What you're going to do, is think of a fruit, but hold on, if you just think of one straight off, it'll be too obvious so we're going to make it random.

Think of a number 1-10 and don't tell me... Got one? It's not 7 is it? Boring people always pick 7. Now let's mix it up. multiply by, say, 9 then you ... still on 9? Do you want a pen and paper for that? Got it? Good. So you x'ed by 9. Add the two digits* together to get a single digit. Now your number - 5. You know you convert numbers to letters? A=1, B=2, C=3, D=4 etc (look to see recognition when you say D=4). Choose a country starting with your letter. Now the last letter of your country is the first letter of a *shrug the shoulders as if thinking of something random* er, animal. Cool, now then, that's gotta do it, so the last letter of the animal is the first letter of a fruit. Got your fruit?

The traditional way would be to look deep into their eyes, tell them it's an orange and move on, but I've been thinking recently about is how to turn this into a cold read.

*I originally included a proviso about single digit numbers, but no one's ever picked 1

So I was doing it in my head as I was reading along, and honestly I thought of "Kitten" as the animal, and then "Nectarine" as the fruit

But I like it, this is good stuff!

Whats your thoughts on an idea to add to this simple trick to lead to a close if it pulls off...

When all her calculations are done.. Rather than standing with her while she opens the envelope, with you becoming increasingly nervous that she hasn't chosen koala, why not do this:

1. Hand her the envelope, say "Enjoy" and walk away.

2. Inside the envelope, in addition to the pictures, have a note saying "Well?" followed by your mobile number.

3. If you get it right, she'll more than likely text you saying how cool it was or how you did it.

BOOM. Number close.
