This might be my alcoholic father talking, but the lesson has proven true to me time & again over the years: being able to keep your cool while drinking is a KEY social skill. Whether it's gaming, hanging out with your friends, or going out for work, you eventually need to know how to throw drinks down and remain a star. I'm pretty good at it, and it's definitely a reason why I'm often invited out: people feel really uncomfortable when THEY are drinking and letting loose while that creepy dude is in the corner sipping on a Pepsi...

This doesn't mean your supposed to pound lethal amounts of alcohol. It means that you've got to understand how to pace yourself and maintain your concentration. Frank Sinatra was famous for ordering drinks all night, but only taking a few sips and leaving the half-full drink in the corner when nobody was looking. I think he even had a quote that said something along the lines of "it doesn't matter if you're drunk as long as you're less drunk than everyone around you"...

Anyhow, that's just one opinion. If you're a drinker, cheers. Just make sure not to drink so much that you're unable to be the clever, sly dude you want to be...

When you're starting out in the game its not a good idea to get drunk at all,
Its not a good idea after but atleast then you know you're doing.
Also it wont help your game progress and you're more likely to make mistakes. Being sober (slightly) is your biggest advantage over everyone else in the club/bar, you're thinking straight and in the right frame, making you different from every other joe bloggs in there.
Personally i never go out to get drunk, it happens by accident.
