I was talking to a friend of a friend I had just met. We were sat in a group but slightly isolated and quite possibly within ear shot of our friends she just asked "do you wanna fuck me?". I tried to play it cool and said maybe if you play your cards right...

It was more of a shit test than a genuine offer, but what are you supposed to say to that???

What you did was perfect. It is definitely a shit test, and you proved you weren't affected by it. Basically, you just want to show that you are the one who will decide if you sleep together or not, and that's only if she proves she's worth it to you. Nice work, and quick thinking!
