So this happend a little while back but it was one of the few things that puzzled me. So bassically this is also all before i even knew "The Game" and all this PUA stuff existed but...

It was a typical saturday at Rutgers. Me and my Best Friend are upstairs at the Frat house in his room. Later our other good friend arrives w/ a HB9.5 he used to work w/ and recently ran into and brought out w/ him. First off this girl is very very good looking and a huge bubbly personality (liked to talk shit to guys like she was always looking for a fight).
Anyway spotlight was on me...at some point she says "do you always have to be right" or something like that still playful though since i always do like to dominate a convo. I said yes i do but if it thats a problem i'll shut up for 5 minutes starting now so i just left.
Come back later...turns out there was no party tonight at the house so we end up sitting outside waiting to figure out the night. This is where it got interesting and i'm not sure what happend.

She's talking to frat brothers and other guys who are hitting on her... i act like it doesn't phase and and it really doesn't to be honest, once in a while cutting in to say something funny to the brothers...no her... Eventually she says come over here and be my friend. OF course... i say "why do i want to be your friend while smiling."

End up walking to the next frat house for a party on the way there she nicely slips me her phone and says "let me get your #" ...thats done.

She leaves i did everything good i thought.
4-5 days later i call her up to take her out to dinner cause i really did like this girl... she threw stuff out there that she liked that i totally vibed w/ w/o ever asking her about it.

Anyway never calls back when saying she'll get back to me on it.

The next week see her at a party...act like it didn't happen... she feels uncomfortable obviously and says "btw i'm really sorry i didn't get back to you"blah blah blah...i said... "don't worry about it, didn't take to long to get over it"

Anyway ....later that night she got into a fist fight w/ one of the brothers then on the phone fighting w/ a guy "don't think i'm going ot be one of those girls sitting around waiting for you to call me b/c i'm not" ... she left in tears....


Anyhow my question is did i go wrong somewhere w'/ the dinner maybe. Secondly its obvious she already was hooked by some other guy that wasn't calling (serves her right) so she wasn't stable is suppose but who knows.
So just thoughts, opinions, advice w/e. Its all appreciated

1st and foremost, don't get too hung up on it, she sounds like a basket case.

2nd, you got tested, and somewhere along the way did not pass.
Dinner date as a 1st date: BAD IDEA (dont make her the spotlight). For future reference say something like:
"I really feel like going bowling/sailing/shopping/whatever Xday, you should join me" (you were already going to do it ANYWAYS see? Are you going to goto a nice dinner restaurant on friday night regardless of if she comes or not...not exactly)

But props on getting the number. Personally I would have made her call me (she's hitting on you brah!). Try to remember what you did that night.

Yeh...why are the pretty ones always a little off the edge... The only good part is its almost instant gratification when you realize the chicks a total nut case and better she be someone else's problem.

Good advice though w/ the alternative to the formal dinner date thing, i've always thought it was a terrible awkward thing to do as well but convinced myself that girls do like that . And setting it up the way you described probably could've made a situation like that end differently.

I'm not sure if you just didn't mention this - but it seems as if you never isolated her or actually really talked to her. It seems like you just tactfully ignored and negged her. At some point of time before you part the first time, you need to talk to her and build comfort otherwise she'll be thinking things like "we never really talked much..." "do we actually have anything in common?" etc.

No we actually talked atleast a few minutes bullshitting about what we watch on tv and stuff around the time when she asked me to be her "friend" and sit down next to her. I think it was the dinner thing that killed me. Its not the first time i tried the dinner and it usually never worked out very well doing it that way (puts to much pressure on the date but i didn't know an alternative). Not gonna use that again for a long while now.
