Inviting myself to her place

Hello!
So, suppose that i cant take the girl home. How do i smoothelly invite myself to her place? By text and from our date. Im talking about cases when i have never been at her place before. I've succeeded in building attraction and then simply ask if i could sleep at her place, or after kissing say (a little as an suggestion) that i want to sleep at her place. But i don't think that way has been smooth enough.. anybody who has advise or suggestions of what i could do instead? :)

You've succeeded and it hasn't been smooth enough? If it's successful, why are you trying to change what works?

Im 21 and studying, its very hard to get my own place and not an opportunity for a good while... I long for my own place!

Kind of.. should i hope to be able to do in text message? I've only heard it happen to others
