I asked a girl out who visits my company from another company for coffee. She said yes and promptly handed me her business card. This was after talking for around 20 minutes. She's a sales rep, and at my position I would have no reason to use any of her products.

The conversation leading up to it I tried to steer into personal territory, but it would only stay there for a second and stray back. When she gave me her business card I said "I was thinking more along the lines of a cell number." She said we can meet up but only work related. I'm thinking of seeing if she would be willing to meet up and play it by ear. My opening e-mail I plan to use is:

"It was interesting hearing about your (go into more details on product.) Like you said, you have a clear passion for it. Maybe we can talk some more."

And send it from my personal e-mail. Any thoughts/experience with this sort of thing?

You didn't state what the vibe of the convo was like, but I'm guessing it was pretty professional and there were a limited amount if any sparks. Reading her vibe, if it matched what I stated, would have ideally led to not asking her for coffee.

You put her in kind of an awkward position because she doesn't want to offend the company she is servicing etc.

She is not down to meet on a personal level, she said as such. She deflected personal info in the convo.

There are endless amounts of women flowing around in every city/town. Go meet some of them.

The conversation was mostly professional but there was a little sub communication of interest, fluttering eyelids, lingering glance, body turned toward me. She brought lunch once and she said I had something on my lips and dabbed it with a napkin a little sensually. I would say it's a yellow light veering toward red. Figured it wouldn't hurt to at least take a stab on an e-mail. Any suggestions for the actual e-mail?

She took everything off the table if it isn't work related. Move on. It's okay...we can't get them all.
