So-

Long story short, HB8 and I were talking via OKC and moved on to texting.

Since then, its been tougher to get a positive response. Left a gap of time between texting (1 week) and reached out to her again

someone had said i looked like Neville Longbottom and i thought it would be a fun way to reengage her by asking

Someone just told me I look like Neville Longbottom. Should I be offended?

To which she responded

I'm afraid I don't know who that is.

off the bat, its clear the reference didnt catch which takes the fun out.

what is the best way to respond in order to position myself for a more positive outcome? I'm trying to allow the conversation to continue and build trust to revamp the connection- without losing power

So before I could respond, she either (a) google it or (b) suddenly dawned on her..

"Hahaha oh! Well he defiantly grew out of his ugly boy stage"

to be honest, im not really a harry potter fan, so i'd rather take the convo elsewhere.

i'm not trying to get her to meet up right away, but its hard because she lives a bit far from me, so its hard to find an activity that isn't coffee for a first meeting.
