Here is the situation... me and this HB were on a first date, which was not brilliant but not bad either. Anyway, I am having trouble with getting to day 2. She said she has this school thing to finish before she can meet me again, because she doesnt wanna loose focus. She initiated the text convesration a couple of times and I have called her in between so we are kinda in touch. I set the frame of being busy and was just joking around with texts mostly. I believe it is called pinging. The fact is, she turned me down twice for the second date (school excuse) but I`ve played it cool and didn`t loose any value with this. Now she said, I can pick any day I want for the next date, since she is kinda finished with her school thing.

So my question is: Would it be ok, to set the date and then cancel the plans, so she doesnt think she is my only option? I have read about this strategy somewhere so I kinda wanna try it. Or would that kill my chances with her?

If i were you i would say that i'm the one who has plans now. And that she will have to wait til you know when you can meet her.
If you want you can come up with some story (fake or truth) that you are going on roadtrip with a friend (or something else that sounds more funny than meeting her).

Then the next day, you'll say "okay i got some time RIGHT NOW" and tell her to meet you (at some place you want). Then when you meet her, be like impulsive.
For example when you meet her;

- "Let's go and bowling"
or
- "i know this awesome place ........"

Don't ask her what she wanna do. If she says something like "naah im not so good at bowling", then just tell her that you will teach her and it will be fun.

Most important: Smile and eye-contact alot when you talking AND smiling
