I was able to apply Mac's advice almost to the letter with the exception that I probably talked more than one sentence per half page, more like 2/3 her, 1/3 me.
I was overall stiffer (and more reserved) than I would have liked but otherwise no major mistakes or faux pas on either side.
I think I was able to demonstrate some HV and avoid disqualifying myself.
There were no clear sparks on either side, she crossed her arms a couple of times only (at which point I stopped talking and sent the conversation back to her) and she maintained eye contact most of the time with often both elbows on the table and her hands below the chin as if she was truly interested in listening to me.
When the waiter brought the bill she offered to split it but I stuck to the plan (contrary to Majik's advice) and insisted to pay joking on the fact that now she owes me and she followed on the joke by acknowledging that she does.
I am not sure if her offer to split the bill was genuine or a test and in that case if I passed or failed!
We promised to keep in touch with the excuse of me teaching her Italian, but we did not set a firm date right there and then.
In the end I think I was able to convey the feeling "I am interested in you but I am not overly eager" and I feel she did the same.
Any comment and constructive criticisms are welcome!
Thanks
Ankh
