How long does it usually take to get a number close? In hopes of preventing myself from asking to early for a number, how long do u guys usually spend before getting her number?

It all depends on the set and how everything is going along. Ive had sets walk up to me and swap numbers as the first thing we did, Ive had sets where it took a while and i ended up just ejecting cuz nothing was gonna happen. So sorry but theres no real set time limit you just have to feel it out with practice.
