I agree this is too neg to be an opener. Also, what if she say, "to look good." What will you say next? Maybe something more open ended, like "why do some girls wear a lot of make up and some wear none at all?" If she says something to imply those that wear more are better, then you neg (assuming she wears a lot).

okay i tried it and got a #-close with a set date. this is what happened:
me: hey, so why do girls wear make-up?
HB: well to look good.
me: okay, but isnt looking good just another way to get a guys attention?
HB:well.... yeah
me: and if your looking for somone why do you have to put up a fake face? if the person really likes you it doesnt matter what you look like with make-up on and without it.
HB: yeah but wherer do i find mr. likes me for who i am?
me: well he'll come to you and ask you why do girls wear make-up?
she started to laugh and bought me drinks for the rest of the night and told me to met her tommarow at her house... so basically i got a adress close and a number close.
