(I've had a big preference to more direct game lately.) However, one of my friends is very much into them, so I decided that tonight I'd follow his lead and do them myself. The results were quite interesting.
Past situation;
Me: Who lies more, men or women? (Replaceable with any OO.)
Girl: Why do you ask me this? (Uninterested tone.)
Me: A friend of mine blabla whateverthefuck. (Explaining the 'story' further.)
Girl: blabla (Still Uninterested)
New situation; (inject direct-game experience.)
Me: Who lies more, men or women? (Exactly the same.)
Girl: Why do you ask me this? (Uninterested tone, still the same.)
Me: Honestly, you |seemed interesting/were looking beautiful/etcetera| so I was just looking for a reason to come talk to you.
Girl: |Happy+Answer OO/Happy+Different thread/etcetera| (Could get a shit test or get actually rejected, didn't happen to me though. If so barrel through the shit test or move on.)
This way you'll still have the low-pressure opener, but you can very quickly test for actual interest and turn the conversation in an, in my opinion, better direction. If she doesn't ask for the reason of you asking, just inject the same line somewhere down the line (asap if you ask me.)
I thought that this mixture between indirect and direct game could be a nice, lower pressure step for new people trying to get into direct game.
