I like the wink because it is private and personal. You are expressing interest without announcing it. If you feel it is time to express interest than that is a very good way.
The hand kiss is something you would have to calibrate for. I think it's lame but a lot of girls I know would think it was charming. It can either come off confident or try-hard depending on the audience. That probably explains the mixed results.
Here is a greeting opener that I use that I haven't shared with anyone but have had very good success with.
Instead of hand shaking I hold up my elbow and say "throw me some bo". Usually it is different enough that it's interesting and they just do it because it's fun and weird. about 60% of the time a girl will ask "why the elbow?" Tell her to try and put her elbow in her nose, ear, mouth, butt crack or armpit. It's not possible. It's just a cleaner way to greet someone. The reactions I get from this are generally big time DHV. I don't know why exactly but it must be one of those chick things. It's kind of a neg/dhv thing I guess. You are dirty and I am clean. This opener has led to many many different threads anywhere from "I don't think we are the point in are relationship to be exchanging dna" to "I have an important function in the next couple days and I really can't afford to take any chances on getting sick"
