Met this girl doing a show a little over a year ago, and I was just so fascinated by her because she's totally unlike any girl I've ever been into--a real geek type. But she was so funny and just really genuine (but still had a banging body she always covered up), there was something about her. She had a bf, a real ego-driven douchebag nobody liked, and she and I would vibe a lot and keep each other laughing, and she thought I was an awesome performer. We fell out of touch after the show, and I saw three weeks ago on her Facebook that they broke up before Valentine's. Decided to wait a few weeks so it didn't look obvious, then posted on her wall saying there's a great show I'm gonna be working in, and we need someone of her caliber to come help out on it. I hooked her, and after a couple back and forth posts, I logged in today and she had "liked" two of my pics and one of my posts from a few days ago (aka she went through my profile and albums to see what I've been up to), then posted asking what I've been up to and "where does the wild [my name] roam these days?" Nice.

Also noted she had a status up about avoiding "another drama queen," so I'm guessing some guy just like her ex is after her now, and took a quick spin through her pics from the last few months and saw one of her in a ridiculous rubber Odie mask. Wrote her a private message:

You have excellent taste in...

...headgear. That picture of the lopsided dog devouring your forehead is definitely the sexiest thing I've seen in at *least* 37 minutes. And extra points cuz it's Odie. Anyone who doesn't know he was better than Garfield is lame.

Wanted to answer your questions, but didn't wanna clog up your status thread talking about myself. I've been pretty great. Doin my thing at [my job], and getting great feedback on this week's [highly visible public project I just pulled off]. Was dating a lot and had a girlfriend for a while, but every girl I meet is all surface and no substance. Hanging back now till I find someone who's real and not just some bar chick. Spent a few months on the board at [a place we both really respect], but work and other stuff kept me too busy. Co-chairing a summer cocktail party fundraiser for [a professional organization I'm in], kind of a local celebrity auction-type thing.

As far as roaming lol, I'm mostly downtown. I'm at [grunge/hipster bar] a lot these days, and [cool European restaurant/bar] 'cause the owner's a friend of mine. And I've started going to the [classy wine bar] with a couple groups of friends like two or three times a week haha. I love it there. Still throwin it down at salsa every weekend. [She knows I'm a great dancer, and in fact hooked an exchange student friend up with me last summer because of it.] Just secured my comp tix to [Philharmonic doing a big-time tribute show at the city's posh concert venue] tomorrow night, and SUPER psyched 'cause I've never heard [great song] live before! Joined the [local art museum] last month too, but haven't even found the time to go yet...I gotta remember to do that. I read yesterday that the [kickass big-name] exhibit is only there a couple more weeks. I passed through it very quickly when I was there for a concert recently, and if you haven't been, trust me--don't miss it!

Trying to slow down and enjoy things more since the weather's warm. Teaching a good friend how to cook (she hasn't burned or cut me yet!), going to the park to feed ducks. After all, "the wild [me]" is only a beast when he needs to be! ;cD

Gotta run...patio @ [Mexican bar] (best margaritas in town) w/an old friend... I wanna hear about you--it's been what, like a year? Three questions about the meantime: 1) What's the best song you've heard in the last year? 2) What did you do that you're most proud of? 3) What are you most looking forward to about this summer?
I feel like I put this together pretty well. Indicated that I'm not another drama queen by taking a conversation about myself out of the public arena, dropped a gentle/funny neg about her pic but the word "sexiest" is what will stick out in her memory and she'll know that I've been checking her pics out and wonder what I really thought. She already knew I date a lot and am seen hanging out all over town, so I added specifics to it and showed that I have variety even within that, and that just because she's not the type of girl all my Facebook pics are with, I'm tired of them and I'm starting to slow things down in my life, and maybe someone like her is what I really need. And I'm genuinely interested in hearing about her, and of course dropped in two hooks for possible ASAP dates, should she choose to take the bait. Also, I purposely broke my own style of writing in the last paragraph and switched to much shorter statements and used a lot of abbreviations, to subtly show that I was suddenly out of time and was really in a hurry to get somewhere as opposed to hanging on Facebook waiting for a response.

Opinions?

Call her up and take her out and show her a good time. Crap technology like facebook, instant message and text are not the realm of PUAs

Many seem to agree, though, that if you need to use it to get things rolling at the beginning with a particular girl that there are good and bad ways to use it, so since my endgame was to get her on a date anyway and I was actually just looking for feedback on how I structured my message, that wasn't really helpful, but anyway, yeah, we're going out tomorrow. Some opinion on the message itself would've been useful, but clearly it worked since we're going to two of the places I mentioned.

WAY WAY TOO LONG... what some people fail to realize is text/facebook game is for quick reply/response grab the date then talk your heart out... one example of quick txt I sent a girl just today was... AWESOME chinese spot amazing food chill environment dinner @ 7 on tuesday in or out? usually the lines works perfect unless its on short notice... but to go back to the letter the first part was good, but too much personal information from the beginning, and lastly the questions were kinda of strange... like I feel like I am in kindergarden where u had journals...
