also, i came up with this one opener i'm not sure if it's good for day game though. it's direct and C&F. "I know this might be kind of awkward, but i didn't want this opportunity of talking to me to pass you by." i kind of twisted one that i saw else where to fit my personality.

The simple fact is that women generally don't expect to be approached when not in a bar/club/pub so you can even get away with stuff you'd never have at night - "Hey, how are you?" even!
Personally, my favourite opener - day or night - is "Say, you don't happen to know how much a polar bear weighs? Me and a friend were arguing - and I think it's just enough to break the ice!"
Massively cheesy, but it gets you in, and generally works better in the day as they really aren't expecting the crappy line!
I never go for a hard close during the day, maybe I should though. Generally I've found what works for me is the opener (easy, so easy) and a close for drinks later on that night/week where it's going to be a more relaxed environment.
Sometimes, I even give them my number in this scenario. Arrange a meet up then give her your contact details. It exudes confidence 'Hey, I don't need to push it - you have my number; call if you like, otherwise I'll see you tonight'
I know that's generally not advised, but what's the worst case scenario? you turn up to the bar dressed to success and she's not there? Great, you're ready to game!
