So, today I had to catch a bus home from my job appointment. When I got on right away a beautiful HB9 in the middle of the bus. I decide to at least sit near to her so if I wanted to open her I could just turn and start talking. when I sat down I started to brain storm openers with myself.

I was way pass the 3sec rule when I was ready =( but since this was my first open since I found out about the game I figured I wasn't gonna do everything right. then I notice another thing wrong.. she had an Ipod out and listening to it quite intently. also, she refused to make eye contact. Not that I was starting at her, but I was looking out the window and I could see her out of the side of my eye. my goal was to not creep her out. I was turned away from her so it didn't show too much interest. I thought I was doing good until she got up and moved to another place on the bus.

I'm not sure why she felt like she had to move but I sure hope it wasn't me. How would you of handled that situation? when a girl shuts you out by not looking at you so she can't see you talking to her. And playing music so she can't hear you. Any advice will be very helpful

Kinda motion towards her and move your lips like youre talking to her (she has her headphones on so she probably cant hear). Hopefully she takes them off and says "What?" and you can just follow up by saying "do you always strike up conversations with complete strangers?" and continue a convo.

i wouldn't be good at that cold reading, i would probably blow it with "i think zunes are waaaay better, everyone has an ipod"

I would've just done something like Fuzz said. Get her attention so she takes the earbuds out of her ears and engages you in conversation. If you're interesting enough, she'll turn her Ipod off.

Drop a dollar or two as you pass by her, it'd force her to talk to you... if not, you've lost 2 bucks lol But I guess also someone else could pick it up. Just an idea
