I've found myself attracted to a girl with whom i have many mutual friends. Met her once before and seen her about at clubs but never really had the "game" or confidence to initiate a conversation.
My brother and her brother have recently become good mates at school, and i'd really like to get to no her.
Adding her on facebook and then messaging her seem the only reasonable way for me to contact her at the moment, but i'm thinking this may just b awkward because i don't really no her, so i wud like sum advice on maybe a message i cud send with my friend invite to help break the ice a bit and make the whole process seem more comfortable, not just for her, but for me as well!

From what I know of watching hours of PUA material, and from what I've read in Gambler's book, you're just not being playful or cocky enough with that chat-up line. If you have a TON of social proof (hot girls hanging off of you all the time or tons of friends that adore you), then you can go in trying to build rapport. Otherwise, you've got to DHV, and that means being cocky/funny/flirty.

I think disqualification takes on another level when doing online game. It's just too easy to zip an e-mail to a hot girl. There is seriously 0% balls required to "approach" a woman online, so you've gotta make up for that in your message. So, maybe open with, "Is your brother gay, because I am getting some serious homo-vibes from him, and I'm not particularly interested. I have enough gay stalkers as is..." Maybe make it sound more playful. But whatever you send to her, it can in NO WAY be percieved as you picking up on her. Seriously, imagine how many e-mails she must get from weak-sauce guys trying to suck-up to her.

I have ended up in an actual relationship with a girl I met online- an HB 8. I actually OPENED with a disqualification statement- "It's a shame you have x problem, because from your profile it looks like we have a ton in common." not true ... i crack girls up when e-gaming.. to be honest you look less incongruent when gaming online because the body language and facial expression factor is eliminated. voice tonality is also important in real life gaming..... actually i can call myself an expert in online gaming because girls never flaked on me when gaming online ( 95% succeed rating ) however that doesn't mean your good in real life face to face and i often fucked up in the follow through .

you can facebook her ... it's no problem but of course it's better to meet her in real life first. stop telling people they shouldn't do something .. i facebooked girls before i even met them and even had relationships with them.
