I would walk up to a group, open, get the attention of everyone, and launch into my routine. I would look at my target occasionally but do my best to ignore her. About a minute it in, I'd lose her. She'd go get drinks, or begin conversation with a friend. I'd have no problem finishing my opener and sometimes even getting IOIs from her friends.
Should I say my opener to my target and THEN ignore her? Should I just talk directly to my target? Should I open to the group and then Neg my target?
I should probably try all of the above...

You may want to carry a peacocking item that you can lock her in with. place your sunglasses on her for example, or something...*note be sure you lock her in with something that isn't too valuable to you lest she steal it or break it* This gives you the ability to come back to her if she has wondered off and "get your item back".

In the cases I was talking about, I lost my target in the first 35 seconds.

Open the group, neg her the moment she opens her mouth, or rally support from her friends as to her freaky clothes or whatnot, she'll probly call you a hipocrite for peacocking, at which case you blow her down for her attitude then at least sh has motivation to stay unless your mean with our negs. _________________ 'Oh my, you sir are the Moriarty of self awareness and personnal refelection'

Open your set then neg her and at that point I would lock her in. The way you do that should be dependent on how she responded to the neg. If she was offended, lighten up the neg with a soft compliment and lock her in as a token that you weren't serious. If she responded well to the neg, or if you want, make it the opening neg, you may try to say something like:
PUA:"Here..." (hand the item to her or put it on her) "now you look like you belong here, but I'm going to need it back so don't go too far." ( or something... dialog is so much better when its done spur of the moment)
Dialog is soo dependent on your personality and confidence that your shouldn't read something and assume that it has been specifically field tested for you.
