PUA: Yep, cupcakes originated in the United States, one of the few foods that can claim that wondrous fact. There are few things like them in the world. What's your favorite flavor?
HB: Rabble rabble rabble. (great place for a neg)

Continue on as needed. I usually say how America tastes great, or how cupcakes are now being sold as "exotic" treats in upscale dessert shops, or anything else that comes to mind. I also ask if they know of any other foods that are strictly American, easy spot for playful negging. A venue change to a place with cupcakes is generally easy after a little bit, and this opener is great to stack back to if the conversation goes flat. Strangely, I've found a number of places to throw DHV spikes into this, and it's a light-hearted conversation topic.
