| I am in the Philippines right now. I was at an upscale lounge/club somewhat early before the night started to get happening. There is a promotional marlboro event where people that come earlier than a certain time get free drinks and cigarettes. One of the girls handing out cigarettes is incredibly hot, so I go up to her. I would like help with what I said and my actions.
Me: Are you still giving those out?
Her: They are no longer free, but you can buy a pack.
Me: I don't really smoke
Her: That's ok, you can still buy one
Me: (coldly) No, I'll pass. So do you this job often?
Her: No, not really
Me: So day-to-day?
Her: I'm a full-time model.
Me: Oh, do you know (xyz famous local designer), he's my uncle?
Her: no
Me: You're serious? He's older now, but traditionally he's the most famous one here pretty much, he was Imelda's (dictator's wife) main designer.
Her: oooh.
Me: You're not from here are you?
Her: I am
Me: You don't look it and your accent is different
Her: well, I'm from Germany, I came here for vacation and I stayed.
Me: So you're not filipina? Where in Germany?
Her: I'm half, in Bavaria
Me: Oh serious? I used to live in Basel (German Switzerland)
Her: yadahyadah
Me: Anyhow, I have to go, but you should give me your number
Her: Why? (she smiles)
Me: (bluntly) so I can call you
Her: I'm not allowed to give it out here.
Me: What time do you get off work?
Her: 3 am (in a few hours)
Me: (i lightly touch her arm) I'll be back then and meet you, and you'll give me your number
Her: (slight smile) ok
Anyhow, i thought it went well, but when I showed up at 3am she was nowhere to be found. Thoughts on anything here? Should I have done the name-drop? I came in confidently here and the flow was good, but obviously not good enough, I'm just not sure what I did wrong.
