I came across this by chatting to a hb7 at a party whos just a friend and we were debating (Clearli jokingly) if mermaids where real.
I then walked off and sat in the middle of a group of HBs on the sofas and one AMOG
. I Didint direct it to anyone i jsut said

"If you where a mermaid....what colour would your tail be?"

All of the Hbs shouted at once differnt colours

Hbs-Red,Blue,Green blah blah
Me-Wahh Wait one sec okay everyone calm down.Every colour has to be different and im going first....Id be pink
Hbs blah blah blah*going on about the colours they want*
Me-*To the wana be amog* how about u dude? If you where a mermaid what colour would your tail be?
AMOG- Dude what a fukin stupid question
Me-*holidng hands up* okay okay....you can be a merMAN!...What colour would you be!

Good opener tho really, especially in group situations

I used this one tonight at the bar. I was outside smoking and a waisted girl said I looked familiar but had no idea who I was, then asked if I had a smoke. I had bummed off my friend and told her I didn't. Then she stood there silently.
Before things could get uncomfortably silent I decided I would try this opener on her; I mean, what the hell she was only like a 3/4 and drunk anyway.

"Hey, If you were a mermaid..." She instantly looked intrigued "what color would you have your tail be?" I asked.
"Hmm, teal" she responded with little thought.
"Teal? what a weird color!" I chuckled
"Why? What, do you think that means something" she asked with her drunkin' grin
"Yeah, It definitely means your clingy and needy." I said cockily
She burst out laughing and moved closer.

It worked perfectly!

I moved to Style's "5 lies game" and she bought me a beer after losing. I had no interest in pursuing her because she looked like she would be sick soon, I dumped her with her friends and enjoyed my free beer.
