OPENER FIXING

Many openers don't go as planned, if you have any feedback on openers or openers that need fixing, post here and see if people can help out.

i used an easy text opener last week.

it was. ME-"What did one monkey say to the other monkey?"
HB-"What?"
Me-"when do you wanna hang?"
that was supposed to happen but got no reply.

A week later we were texting each other and everything was good. i said to her,

ME-"You didn't reply last week, What did one monkey say to the other monkey?"
HB- "What?"
ME- "When do you wanna hang?"
HB-" Ohh, right..."
ME- "It was a question dummy, when do you and i wanna hang?"
HB- "oh sorry, yeah what about this weekend?"

anyway, ultimately i got what i wanted out of it, but made myself look like a complete dickhead for a minute there. Perhaps we should elaborate on this or any other openers that someone has.

I'm just not about using this as an opener. I just don't see it working well in most situations. I think you'll continue to get the response you've been getting where you have to explain yourself and the opener looses it's meaning. If you are going to ask her for a date I'd be more direct about it.
