This is my first post ever, so be Gentle!

I have been asking women in the street and in malls (as our American cousins say!), this:

Do you know where there is a fancy dress shop? I root it with im going to a fancy dress party at the weekend and the theme is whatever(I say films usually.)

I ask what character they would dress up as etc.

Do you guys think this is any good?...what could I transition into afterwards? I tend to have trouble after they give the answer and a few comments after the opener.

Im in the UK by the way? and very new to this stuff

I'm not a fan of canned openers, but this is pretty good. It has elements that will engage her imagination. You can easily transition into a cold read based on her answer. For example if she says she would dress up as a vampire, you can say I would have totally pegged you as sweet and innocent and said Little Bo Peep, but I guess you're the dark and sinister type. She'll agree or disagree, but whatever she says I would use my classic reiterate what she says and say "Tell me more."
