Okay, for those of you who don't know a "Hollywood Opener" is one in which you open a set without a "settle an argument" or a c&f line but instead just do something really ballsy.

Thus far the only one I've tried was at the fair. My friends and I had won inflatable mallets from the strongman challenge and decide to hit random people with them. I approached 2 HBs and said "Excuse me, I need a quick opinion on something." "What?" one of them replied. Without saying anything I smacked her in the head and walked away.

I wanna know if anyone has some other good ones because they seem like good gambles.

Opinions?

That sounds hilarious.
However, you're bound to get a "what the hell are you doing?" eventually. Which may or may not be a good place to build attraction from if they actually are pissed off. But hey, they might not be the type of HB you'd want to be with.

wow, I just learned another one from AFC Adam Lyons. You need a wingman and possibly a cameraman. Engage a moving target and:

PUA: could you do me a quick favor?

HB: Ok

PUA (get on one knee and hold out a cheap ring): Will you marry me?

before she can respond have your wing run up and:

Wing: I saw the whole thing! I'm a minister and I'll do the ceremony right here!

be playful! include lines in the vows such as "do you vow never to cheat on him even with someone as good-looking as me?" do this right and you've broken the ice! Congratulations!

What's a better way to engage their attention that isn't DLV?

instead of saying excuse me, just leave it out. say something like "hey, how's it going, i need your opinion on something real quick. blah blah blah"
