i see a lot of women around, but an annoying number of them are on their cell phones just talking it up with a friend. it's like they do it just so that they can't be approached. the only thing i've come up with is stalking until the conversation ends(haven't tried it, but i know girls can talk to eachother for a long long time). anybody have an approach that can get around this?

Before I give out my secret on this #1 this works for my personality and #2 I don't give a shit if she gets pissed because I'll replace her quickly.

So the girl in on her cell phone talking...

I walk up to her stand about 3 feet away and shoot her a concerened look. If she asks me anything or I have her attention I'll say, "Tell your friend you'll call them back." Otherwise, I proceed on this way.

So, if you approach and stand close by and she doesn't stop talking as will happen several times. I will pull out my cell phone and mock her. I will say this out loud, "Hey Bro, yeah man I'm at (wherever you're at) I'm trying to talk to this girl. She's on her cell phone, and won't hang it up. Yea I hate it when people do that too, they're so rude...." I'll go on like this as long as she can talk if I need to.

Again, when she gives you attention say to her, "Tell your friend you'll call them back." Then at this point you've opened so introduce yourself and have some fun.

thanks. it basically sounds like your opener is to agitate her until she gets off the phone, then proceed normally and try to close. is that right? it's worth a shot. it seems like it might turn some girls off, about how often does this work for you?

It works whenever I need it to. It's not agitating her, it's flirting! Again, it depends on how you say it and do it. If you're funny with it then you won't come off like an asshole, and you may actually get her to laugh.

I am a pretty big jokester when I'm in field. I'll steal chairs out from people about to sit down, flick their arms, pull their hair, mock them, or whatever else comes to mind.

I def wouldn't stalk her until she is done talking bc that is creepy and something an AFC would do. Ummm maybe walk up to the side or behind her (pretty close) and have your cell phone open and in hand then say loudly "heyy what's up." when she turns and thinks you are talking to her, say, "oh i wasn't talking to you, i was talking to my friend" and show her the phone. "but since you started it, hi my name is ________." (and shut your phone as you say this)

A little off topic, but wouldn't that actually piss people off? I don't get how you could turn that into a joke. Please elaborate

I have never opened someone on the phone but I guess Ill give it a try, because girls normally stand alone or away from a group when on the phone in my lacking experience.

I don't allow them to fall on their ass, I let them see me do it, to make it funny.

me and a buddy were stood outside a bar chatting when we spot this hb8 chatting on her phone about 10 feet away.

she's stood sideways on and looking mighty fine, as my eyes followed down her legs I noticed her shoes came out a bit too much at the back, clearly way too big.. I say to my friend "fit girl but shame she's wearing her moms shoes and can't afford her own"

Quick as a flash my buddy whips his phone out.. walks over with it to his ear talking really loud saying .. "yeah . ok ok.. I'll tell her right now".. the girl sees him approaching and is like oooer whats this about..

my buddy then holds the phone out to her... and says :

"it's your mom.. ...(pauses about 3 seconds whilst she's trying to figure it out)... she wants her shoes back"

the girl just looks at him, starts laughing and turns around and carries on the conversation but ends quickly and then comes over to us and calls us cheeky then introduces herself and it goes on well from there

having said that I guess it could have been quite easily met with a "go funk yourself" if she had no sense of humour

moral of the story is if you don't approach then there's zero chance of anything happening.. and at the worst case all you can do is annoy someone who you probably weren't going to talk to anyway so why not do it.

hrmm as much as it makes a funny story, as you mentioned probably does leave her open to blow you off immediately. Ah well, guess his lucky it worked in his favor!
