I was wondering how i would go about testing the water on this one without crossing the line of making it awkward everytime i come in.

the otherday my buddy was cooking something and the cable in the kitchen of the USO went out so i put the tv on mute and he says "play some music white" too which i say no because i was busy but she said "oh yes, please do!"
not sure how to take this. maybe shes just being overly friendly?

either walk up to her, or do the relaxed to finger come here. Since you may be wrong about the intention don't say anything about the fact that she was looking at you. I think that would make it awkward.
