Waiting in line for my espresso. In walks this fine blonde - orders. We are both sitting there waiting for our drinks. Perfect opportunity to strike up conversation... but had no idea what to open with. I feel my game is pretty solid once I get past that initial opener. That's really where I'm stuck. Obviously a confidence thing... So question is... anyone got any advice for an opener in a situation like that?

Yes, I mentioned it other topic. I started using a drawing as a opener. Always have a piece of paper with you and a pen. You see her there, sitting and waiting. Draw a stick figure really fast. The Uglier the better. Then write underneath the stick figure (make it look female) - "Semi pretty girl from starbucks(or whatever)" Then sign yourself like a real artist, also write down the date and then aproach her.
"Hey, you know what? Your beauty inspired me to a higher form of art."
She will look at it and starts laughing her ass off. I use this like 10 times a week and so far It never failed.

Last time I used it, girl looked at me and said "I am so keeping this" and put it in her bra while looking in my eyes.
The reason why this works is - you don't write "hot" or "beautiful", just "semi pretty" which works as neg. You are showing them that you are open minded and fun.
I used it on a bartender once, everyone knows her as a girl who doesn't smile. She literaly never smiles or show any emotional reactions. Like Kristen Stewart . And guess what? She was laughing really hard.

Also you can use it in comfort building. When she goes to a toilet(and you are waiting for her) or when you meet on a date. It will always make them laugh and you will be quite original.

Situational openers work well for me. I saw this girl short Asian girl - solid 8 - in line ahead of me waiting for her beverage. She was bouncing on her heals listening to her iPod. I tapped her on her shoulder, and when she took out one of the ear buds I said "Wow, I am amazed at how much fun you are having waiting in line. I want what you are getting" She told me and after some banter turned off her iPod. I joked around how she was only one pair of thick-framed glasses away from becoming a hipster, and she stuck around to break my balls about the scratches on my laptop.

Openers just open and dont link onto whats said next so in about 30 seconds time Im going to change the topic anyway.

This is why its so important to sit down and write some stories. You approached her so its your job to do most of the talking to begin with. So you open... now your having a conversation.... then you tell her a 2 minute story (which you have already written and practiced) and it dosent and even shouldnt have anything to do with the opener.

"hey about 30 mins ago I was walking down the high street and I saw this kid......"

Yeah good idea. I should have focused on what was available in the given environment. Now that I look back there are a ton of things I could have brought up. Will have to sit and get some stuff together. Thanks!
