I moved to another country. Do you think direct or indirect openers are better for daygame where I don't speak their language? I thought I will ask for directions in english and something like that and escalate from there.
What do you think?

You can use the 'excuse' of practicing what you are learning. If you deliver them confidently, smiling at the fact that your pronunciation is terrible, it will get a good reaction. It doesn't matter that you can't say anything else, she will generally be impressed you are making an effort, and have the balls to speak! And if she doesn't speak any english, then too bad... Plus learning another language is always a useful and attractive thing to do!
I'd love to hear how you get on, as this is a bit of an issue for me as well!
