| Haven't been on this forum on ~1 year, so bare with me, I still feel "new" but I've learned a lot over that year.
Long story short, I have or had social anxiety. Talking to guys, girls, adults, with the exception of children, I get nervous or scared, pressured and essentially I want to run. Anyone with this feeling can understand, and almost ALL of us have felt it with our first interactions with females we liked.
Anyways, I broke out of my comfort shell a lot this year, but not on purpose.
I got a job at retail sales (clothing and shoes), and selling stuff is our goal, else we are useless employees.
End of story!
Busy day can accumulate up to 100 different people of all nationalities, personalities, sex and age.. Walked out of work one week and realized I was saying Hi, how are you doing today? to literally everyone I didn't know on the street.
It was unbelievable.. but I lost all that anxiety and pressure after I started working at retail. Now, even the hottest girl i see, I have no problem talking to, since at work, I have to talk to them or else I get in trouble. So yeah, working at retail was almost a sort of "PUA Anxiety Training" so that roadblock is completely out of the way and I can work soley on my game, and not have approach anxiety cause me to talk like a little bitch with a dry mouth and no style.
I'm sure we've all heard of those self-training excersies where you have to "go out to the mall and say hi to at least 50 girls that day" and well, if you work at retail, the job does it for you, and if you don't put in the work to talk to people, then you'd either be standing around or avoiding customers.. which is more work in my opinion!
Although I know a lot of you guys may either be too young to have a job, too old to work in retail or already have a good income, but for me, a 20 year old college student, this was exactly what I was looking for to get me out of this anxiety.
