Hi guys,
I'm new in this community. I came up with an opener that seems to work quite well. I have read many openers but never anything like this one so I thought that it'd be great to share it.
I use it sometimes when I'm sitting at the bar drinking and some girl comes to order some drink:
(me, over the shoulder and quite serious): Hi... you wanna hear something really funny ?
(girl -> yes): yes sure
(me, always over the shoulder and sometimes not even looking at her): buy me a drink and I'll tell you.
(girl -> no): no way !!
(me, smiling): but THAT was funny, don't you think ?
at this point most of them smile or laugh and then it's when I ask them:
(me, still smiling): what's your name ?
(girl): "whatever name"
(me): nice to meet you "whatever name"
at this point you can say something else like, "are you having fun ?", but she probably will ask you for your name to which you say:
(me): buy me a drink and I'll tell you my name.
at this point you've become more interesting to her.
I need to work the answer when they say the don't want to hear anything funny. I has happened once to me, to which they only thing I could come up with was:
(me): I never said I was gonna tell you, but I saw you before and I thought you might have a good sense of humor...
Anyway still need to work on this. Also if they are willing to buy me a drink I'm not sure what I could say... Probably something like this:
(girl): Ok I got you a drink, now tell me that funny thing
(me): well, I just got a drink for free from someone I don't even know...
or something like that.
