I want to just go up to a girl and say hey my names nate, what are you up to.. something easy because I'm not confident, and im not good at talking to girls yet so I wouldn't be able to follow it up with the same confidence if I did a crazy opener. But at the same time I don't want girls to walk away from me thinking I'm a creep if I can help that. So if you can give me any ideas that would be awesome, thanks.

Hi, How are you?

Then practice building a rapport with her. Then walk away. Even after picking up girls for years, I still excercise by talking to anyone and everyone when I get a chance. Even 40 year old moms with babies in their arms. This help with you feeling natural around women. If you keep going around thinking about targetting certain girls, it'll turn you into a creeper. You will be surprise how this will help you. You will find out a lot about yourself

An opener that gives you a reason to talk to a girl is always much better than one that doesn't, regardless of your confidence level. There is a large list of openers on this forum that should be able to help you out.

At a clothing store:

"Hi what's your name?"

"Cool, I am Nate." *handshake*

"Hey I need your opinion on something, do you think clothing A matches clothing B? No? Why not? What do you think would be a nice combination?"

And then you have a variety of ways to close...


At a random line, whether it be comedy, food, anything really...:

"Hi what's your name?"

"Cool, I am Nate." *handshake*

"So what's good here (good days/times to come, good food to order, etc.)"

Then close.



Unless the girl has no class, I am pretty sure she'll tell you her name. Handshakes work exceptionally well because people in the U.S. or any well developed westernized world are conditioned to shake hands when someone puts their hand out.

This is a polite, civilized, and fail proof way to open, what you do afterwards it's up to you .
