most of the time the "shy girl" will be sitting/standing there with kind of a dull look on her face (well, smile-less, anyways). My favourite opener for this girl is "wow, i remember the worst day of MY life;" either let her answer that, or throw in: "whats wrong pal, why the long face?"

This routine automatically gives her a neg as she will try to look happier and prove that she isn't in a bad mood, or if she is, then she'll tell you about it and allow you to sympathize with her. After that it's up to you to keep the game going, but for an opener, its my personal favourite for that girl.
