I have to say, it really comes down to how assertive you are about it. I tried all kinds of stuff, from
walking up to her and pretending I can hear the music to asking her about what she is listening to.

I found that the best way to talk to a girl with her headphones in is to be assertive, walk up
to her and say, "Can you pull your headphones out, I want to talk to you"
while mimicking the movement of taking the earphones out for her.

Most guys over think this, and try to come up with a perfect line to say. The reality is, the more
assertive you are with a girl and the more you give yourself PERMISSION to put yourself into
her world, the better she will perceive you.

If you are apologetic or acting all mushy washy when saying this, you won't get a good response.

So in short, walk up to her, TELL her to pull out her headphones and that you'd like to talk to her
without acting apologetic.
