As far as dance game I consider myself an expert here. Learning Salsa is good but I prefer to dance the Swing. This is because I am exceptionally tall (latin dances are designed for shorter to average height-its your power play!) and the nearest salsa club is 45 miles. I explain the technique: "Ok the swing is like you are on a pirate ship. (she will usually giggle) The ship rocks back and forth. Have you ever seen a sailor with their "sea legs?" (probably not but maybe) I explain touching her hips with authority: "Well sea legs ie balance on a ship is the result of putting your hips parallel to the boat. so 1 2 3 hips left (me) 1 2 3 hips right, and rock step. good

Now, I explain the rockstep. And after that you can make a beginner do all sorts of turns-women are naturals at that!
Dancing is usually not enough-you must transition. I have a number of things I do here-basically you have to get her sweating just a bit but pay attention to her body language so that if you suggest you two sit down and catch your breath. The trick is to not leave her with enough energy to want to keep dancing with someone else (this is usually never a factor if you can dance and teach her well). Anyway, I isolate, then I might qualify her with, "you picked that quickly. I don't suppose you are going to school are you?"
There you have it-kind of wordy and I am not guru but I do know dance game.
