I just made this response to another member and I thought of your situation. I realized that I was treating your oneitis differently then this guys. He is stuck in the friends zone. It caused me to develop a plan. If you want to have any chance with your girl you should pull a Kobayashi Maru maneuver (Yes nerdy star trek reference) and friend zone yourself temporarily. Think of this as placing your claim on her. Note I did not say become her friend and yes she will probably run out and get a boyfriend. This is a delicate maneuver and requires finesse. It has the advantage that it gives you time to experiment with her under the safe assumption that your just friends. This will take a lot of pressure off you to learn pickup instantly. I remember you said something about not having ready access to her like a phone number. This is why your going to make the opener. Your going to invent a reason to be friends. Your going to say the words, "Let's just be friends." Then your going to flirt with her using every new trick you've learned, probably for a few months.

This was a PM that I shared with a forum member. The gist of the Maneuver is to become completely defenseless and inoffensive in your opener. Then you slowly develop your game by flirting with your 'friend' and other women on the side. You always keep sexual tension as best as your newb self can. I figure one of two things will happen.
1. You'll get practice flirting uphill, much like running with a weight vest, it will make you stronger.
2. You'll get the girl because your not really in the friend's zone she is now qualifying herself to you.
I am in a position to try this as there is a woman that I am by contract not allowed to hit on, but friends, maybe... Then when the contract ends. Who knows.
