Try to transition into some DHV material afterwards. Preparing this will take a lot of your time. Essentially: you need to learn to talk about yourself in a passionate, fun and interesting way. Trust me, nearly everyone I know thinks this is hard; it's all about the frame of mind though. If computer programmers can do this, so can you!
I'm pleased you're trying stuff out. You, unlike many others I've seen, seem to have realised that understanding pickup is a long and painful process, yet you're willing to go through it. Props up to you.
