| | | I just got outta a long term relationship and am back in the game. I'm finding that I'm real rusty. So I need some help. I went out last night to a club and opened about five sets. The sets opened nicely, but I noticed that I had trouble engaging them in conversation. I was asking the questions like where do you work, how long have you lived here, etc. Basically BORING.
I came home reflected on the night and had an idea. I thought about what I liked about my ex (caring, funny, adventurous, etc.). Then I asked if I initially met here what questions would I have to ask to find those things out.
For example what would you do with a million dollars [this quickly tells you the person's true passions], if you didn't have to work ever again what would you do [tells you what a person loves to do with their free time], if you could write a movie about your ideal life who would it be a comedy/drama/suspense/porn (tells you the person's outlook on life) who would star it it [a person they role model or have similar beliefs with think Jenna Jameson as an answer verus Mandy Moore], what song would be her theme song [values and perspective], what is one thing people would never guess about you by first meeting you. These are just a few I came up with. But the idea is to draw out the person's personality early to build rapport quickly.
Can you guys think of any other questions that could do this?

Once you have DHVed enough the set should be asking you these kinds of questions. Between the opener and the close you need a routine. Some people do magic tricks, some people use stories. You just need to find which one works best for you.
