I have seen this girl at the gym (HB9) randomly throughout the summer - maybe 6 or 7 times. We never had a conversation aside from "hi and how are you" and then last week my fbook notified me of a girl who has a few common friends as i and suggested i "friend" her. I looked on her page and sure enough, it was gym girl. I did not jump the gun and friend her immediately, but after 2 weeks of not seeing her, i said fuck it, this girl is in college ( according to fbook) she is probably going back to school soon, so i friended her and she immediately accepts ( last friday).
I also want to mention that last time i saw her, she came over and got on the elliptical right next to mine when there were plenty others open and I thought nothing of it. But this week (after accepting my friend request 2 days prior) the same thing happened, she was on a machine a few rows in front of me and when i walked by i smiled and got on the elliptical in the back....within minutes she was off her machine and what do you know she gets on the elliptical next to me yet again. I took this as a major IOI and looked to my right and she had her head down, so i gently put my hand on her shoulder to get her attention and casually introduced mysef and told her that i was with our mutual friend, who is a girl, and she noticed my fbook recommendation to friend request her, and our mutual friend said "you have to do it, this girl is awesome!" even though i totally made that up and the mutual friend knows it.
I had her laughing and threw in a few negs, did not push for a number close, just said great to meet you and im sure we'll be seeing each other...
All of this was on Monday and I have not seen her since. I know that in any normal situation i woud wait for another interaction to number close or set a date up, but she mentioned to me she leaves in 2 weeks for school.
Due to the fact she is leaving, I REALLY want to shoot her a facebook note and either get her number or give her mine.
I was thinking something along the lines of " hey havent seen ya in the gym since the other day, but i was thinking with the weather being so nice, we should go for a run outside or play some tennis rather than be inside at the gym tomorrow"
So what do you guys think. Is messaging her a bad idea? and if you think I should say fuck it and go for it.... do I word it in a way that the ball is in her court and give her my number, or message something that will get her to give me her number?
And finally....any ideas / negs/ material that will come off as harmless and fun?
The ultimate goal is to get her out one night this weekend.
