Problems With The Community’s Openers

It doesn’t matter what type of game your playing, night or day, the fact still remains that before you can attract and seduce a woman you need to open her set. How does one accomplish this? Use an opener. Now many people will complain that most of the canned openers that the community likes to use have been ruined because of things like The Game, VH1’s show, and magazine articles have exposed most of these openings. What you need to realize is that the opener has little to do with the actual words and almost exclusively deals with your delivery. If you approach a set with a good energy, a great story that roots the opener and complete confidence and genuine interest then the words matter little as they will be wrapped up in you and your story, not the first few lines.

But there lies the problem. There are hundreds of guys every night who go out to clubs around the world from L.A. to Paris using the same canned openers, but sometimes they just don’t grab the sets energy. Why? Because the PUA just doesn’t give a shit about the answer. There is no interest at all from them; they just want to rush directly to the DHV stories and Neg Theory, which I believe are over emphasized by the community. We need to realize that an opener is the first step we take and can be the most important.

How to we have genuine interest? ASK QUESTIONS YOU ARE GENERALLY INTERESTED IN! The cologne opener is good because you should be actually interested in knowing which cologne smells better on you, so you are interested in their opinion. Think of questions you think are interesting and don’t know the answer to but don’t ask your friends and don’t use the Internet. ASK GIRLS IN THE FIELD! You will be interested in knowing other’s answers and you might develop a new and unique opener. You need to show genuine interest. Most PUAs say that you are not hitting on the target during the opener, so if you ask a question you are actually interested in (not just canned ones) then you will be more focused on the answer rather than attracting the girl (but of course, never lose sight of the goal). If you show genuine interest, then you will reach your hooking point faster (in my opinion). Also, make sure to root the opener. Here is an opener I have been working on. I call it the "Reincarnation Opener".
So just remember, Be confident and funny with a high energy level, ask questions that you are genuinely interested in and do not hit on the target during the opening, this does not occur until A3!

Extremely helpful post, Memento. Openers were always trouble for me because I felt like they would catch me running stuff from VH1, but what you say makes a lot of sense.

I totally agree with you that is a very good opener . I have used the cube before and it does work but energy is very key here. Another good point he made was you do have to think of your own material. You can't use stuff from VH-1 or any of that stuff because its to risky.
