OK I just though of this.

You: Wow you look exactly like Lauren from The Hills.

Then the girl will respond a variety of ways. Also the person that they look like can be replaced but I picked Lauren from The Hills because lots of girls know who she is and it could turn into a discussion about The Hills. Obviously I wouldn't use this on a girl with brown hair or something. What do you guys think?

It seems like you show too much interest on a stranger who does not yet deserve it. But I don't know...give it a try

"Uh...thanks." will probably be your typical response. You want openers to be something that will engage a person and make them want to give you an answer, which is why we use opinion openers so much, because everyone has an opinion on everything and we always want other people to know what it is.

that probally won't work... here's why.

usually openers are supposed to be where you can get a response no matter what, and she may have never seen the hills. and that may be the biggest setback, you should try to use a charecter that everybody knows.

for ex. "wow, this may come off a bit strong... but you look like a thinner version of roseal donnald."

of course this probally won't work, because it can be a serious insult, and you usually are supposed to adress the 'whole' group.

I was thinking about this yesterday...

I think if we think a girl looks like a celebrity, we might win more points if we say for instance..

Jessica Alba really looks like you...

instead of hey you look like jessica alba...

essentailly it is the same thing, but the first ways makes them think they are special as opposed to a look a like...

thoughts?

true story.. Back in the mid 90's I looked quite close to Shannon Daugherty from 90210 and Charmed.. anyways I had this guy approach me, tapped my shoulder and said 'Oh my god, can I get your autograph' well ofcourse I turned with a look I guess resembled a What the hell are you talking about. that was the opener because from then on he ofcourse said how I could pass for her body double and so on and so forth but I was interested even though it wasn't the most original idea sometimes it can work to your favor.
