used literally 10 minutes ago while eating lunch with some friends inbetween classes.

I noticed an HB7.5 that was sitting by herself gave me some EC. i smiled and she returned the smile.

then i got this questioning look on my face and said "hey... you look really familiar... have you ever been to australia?"

HB: [shakes her head] No. i can't say i have.

Me: Really?... Me neither. [smile] What's your name?

and moved over to her table.

worked like a dream, so i figured i'd see if you guys could benefit from it.

Nice work but it seemed to work because initially she gave you some EC, I wouldn't ever ask for their name. If they find you interesting they will ask for yours= IOI.

this is what i m talking about, it wasnt that perfect approach, it worked bacause she gave u some EC.

thats wat i was saying she gave you the IOI, you dont need to open with an opinion opener or cold reading because youve already got your IOI!!

You only use an indirect opener if u havent been given any IOI's eg EC!!

The potential is there for this one just sounds a little boring and some women might even find it corny? I like the idea of using this for future adventures projections though EG:

You: Hey you look familiar have you ever been to australia?

Her: no?

You: Me either! we should totally go and hang out with the kangaroos (look her up and down) Hey you look rich wanna buy us some plane tickets?

Her: Huh? what? no way?

You: oh come on we would totally have a good time and if you sweet talk me enough I might even go skinny dipping with you


That's just something I sorta made up on the spot after reading yours but isn't THAT impressive the idea here is to improve upon something that has potential which I think your opener might

I love Eekangorf's approach. I may even try this one 2moz. You could even turn it the other way and say "looking at what your wearing I dont think your paying/could afford it"

You could also use this as an opportunity to neg, tell her you noticed her ears move when she smiles, ask her to smile again for you, this will not only lighten the mood a little but you will also see how easy it is to pursuade her, all the while thinking that you are merely flirting.
