Let me get yall's opinion on this opener. Plan on field testing it tommorow night.

Me:Im pretty sure yall know who the ninja turtles are right? (Oppurtunity to neg one of them if they dont know who they are)
Set:yea
Me:Ok, well me and my friend were arrguing about who the best ninja turtle was and i just wanted yall's opinion.
Set:blah,blah (their should be at least one person out of the group who chooses a different turtle then everyone else).
Me:Ok, well before i go (rocking away) can yall tell me why you picked that one. (Relate the personality of the turtle they picked to them) (example if one of them picks michlangelo say you must be a party girl, if one of them picks donatelo say you must of been a nerd growing up, playfully, Leonardo you must be the one who always takes care of your friends, thats so sweet, raphiel your probably a bad girl who always gets in trouble, I better stay away from you). (Make sure to direct this towards your target or the odd one out of the group).

Not all girls know the names to all the Ninja Turtles however it would work in a gaming convention...

Anyway, I do not think most girls would see it as a neg not to know of the turtles, it is kind of a kids show yknow. (Dont get me wrong, I love them too.)
However, it is kinda nerdy so I would not bring the TMNT up first thing into my conversation...

Well im in college and im 21 so it more than likely applies to alot of people i know. I dressed up as a ninja turtle for halloween and everyone knew who i was and i got alot of compliments for dressing up as one. Believe most people in this age group know who the ninja turtles are. If they dont neg them by saying to her friends by saying something like where did you grow up, or you must not get out much, or did you have life growing up she must lived out in the woods. something along those lines.

Sorry if I offended you man, not my intention, Im supernerdy too, all day long until I go out sarging. Anyway, I think that girls would not be majorly negged by not knowing the ninja turtles.

lol. you must not know anything. An opener is used just to break the ice and an indirect opener is to seem no needy. After the opener you follow up with something else. Everyone loves the ninja turtles. Its a fun conversation.

You are better off using Power Puff girls than ninja turtles. My guess is you are going to get blown out, but do give us your results on the field test.
