Pick up two of any one item, lets use coffee in this situation (i personally don't drink coffee, but its the first thing that comes to mind)... choose two brands or two flavors... it doesnt matter... go up to the check out counter, and ask if she's a coffee person, if she is, ask which brand/flavor is best... lets say you have starbucks mocha chilled and starbucks frenchvanilla chilled... if she says she would buy the mocha, neg her, without saying anything and buy the french vanilla... then work from there...

or you could always ask if she's trying to make a fashion statement with the name tag or if its just company policy...

If she's wearing a name tag simply walk up to her and be direct by saying, 'Hi, my name is???'... she will probably get a confused look on her face or say UHMMM OKAY? then tell her since you already knew her name, you figured it'd only be polite to introduce yourself...

Wow, your mum helps you with the women? I'm not sure if that's a good or bad thing, to be honest, as you are in danger of looking like a mummy's boy. Plus perhaps the girl wasn't convinced you actually liked her, if the message didn't come straight from you. She might well have feared looking silly if she'd called and you didn't expect it.
