Its unique and some girls may find it cute and a nice break from the one liners they get. At the same time it has a player feel to it. And some regards it feels like you are trying to hard. I say try it and see how girls respond to it if they do.

How has this been going for you? Is it working?

It's been okay. It's probably only generated about 4/15 replies.

What I've actually been opening with lately has been:

"Hi! You seem interesting! I think we'll get along just fine as long as you're not a Beyonce fan."

That's been a really successful opener for me. The typical response is the target justifies that though she might like Beyonce she's not a HUGE fan.
